Established in 1931 as the American Steamship and Tourist Agent's Association, The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) is the world's largest and most prestigious travel trade association. ASTA's commitment to the principles of integrity is enforced by a strict Code of Ethics, and supported by each ASTA member's commitment to providing quality, reliable customer service to consumers.

The mission of the American Society of Travel Agents is to enhance the professionalism of members worldwide through effective representation in industry and government affairs, education and training, and by identifying and meeting the needs of the travelling public.
