Membership is available to full-time Companies, based in Scotland, which
have been trading for at least two years and whose Managing
Director/Proprietor/Partner has had at least two years experience in
managing ground arrangements for incoming groups and individuals to
Scotland.
Meetings have been held with the Scottish Executive, VisitScotland, British Airways, Edinburgh Airport, Scottish Tourist Guides and the Principal Hotel Associations of Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Scottish Destination Management Association (SDMA) is recognised by the VisitScotland and the Scottish Executive as being representative of Destination Management Companies in Scotland. |
The SDMA is a member of the Scottish
Tourism Forum, whose remit is "to influence Scottish tourism
policy at the national level by providing a strong and cohesive voice
for the private sector".
Members are kept informed of new regulations, e.g. Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, Bonding and Trust Funds, Distance Selling and the Disability Discrimination Act. |
